New Firmware Testing

I just wanted to give a quick update that I have started to test GFX with a new version of the Opensprints firmware. I have actually had this version of the Opensprints firmware in hand since April but have not had a chance to work with it. I am still hopeful that we can have a major GFX upgrade this summer yet.

The main focus of implementing the new firmware is to eliminate the dreaded race ties that many of you should be familiar with. Once that hurdle is eliminated I can then look at adding a few other requested features. I am not sure I have any specific requests documented but if you have any new feature requests feel free to post a comment below.

I should also have an update to the install instructions. The guys at Opensprints have been doing a great job of keeping those updated.

China’s Goldsprints Revolution 3

So I am watching a video on the Revolution 3 event in China. Guess what I saw? Goldsprints FX of course! The video below is the official video from the event. The roller racing starts off about the 7 minute mark. Keep your eyes open for shots of GFX in action. Thanks to Shannon for letting me know she continues to use GFX and the OpenSprints hardward. She is really building a great goldsprints community over there!

Vote: Goldsprints FX Logo

I have a graphics arts diploma and a programing degree. I am often working, and thinking, using both the left brain and the right brain. The whole left brain/right brain is probably why I am all over the place in the way I think about things. Can anyone say ADD? I try to think analytically about thing but often day dream about the visual side of things. What the hell does this have to do with GFX. Nothing at all really.

But tonight after fixing a bug that member eLBy pointed out I started working on a possible logo for Goldsprints FX. I want something recognizable, easy on the eyes, and colorful. This is all I have right now but it is growing on me. Let me know what you think by using the voting stars below.

Rate the logo by selecting the number of start. 5 stars are better than 1 star.
