sorry I stepped out for a bit
I haven’t gotten tinker to work although we did run the last race on a source built serproxy in 10.7.

I’ve just installed an ssd so I’m going through the process again, and with a purely 10.7 install not an upgrade.

gfx is my backup at this point as I’m writing a gold sprints program for gameduino, I don’t like taking my macbook to bars or really anywhere that drunken people might wander.

I’ll try tinker though

this is the output from serproxygui. it seems to connect to the arduino. GFX doesn’t get past the GO! screen

actually, Tinkerproxy does work for me. I was using the current development version of the firmware instead of the original default basic_msg version. doh!

As for serproxygui, no luck yet with that.

The configuration file changed slightly for tinkerproxy vs. serproxy. This should create the correct one for tinkerproxy:

I tried both tinkerproxy and serproxy built from source on Lion.

both seem to connect to the comm port, but Goldsprints FX just hangs at GO!
When gfx starts, (ser|tinker)proxy prints out

Ed, I don’t have an Apple, otherwise I would try. Luke does, and he is off until late January, so he is going to give it a shot and get back to you.

I haven’t used tinkerproxy but serproxy worked after I did a make in 10.7 from the 32 bit linux source

i got part of the way by compiling serproxy from the linux sources
still no racing but you can get into the software

Hi All,
I just finished setting up my system using OS X.
On the surface, all looks good. However, when I hit “start”, the system counts
down 3,2,1… GO!
However, my magnets aren’t getting the dials to move, or update anything on the screen.
I’ve played with this for hours now, and haven’t made any progress. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

I have the same problem but my OS is Linux MINT re installed basic .pde on the arduino .. to no avail. I ran a basic blink sketch off another pin before re installing just to check that the arduino environment was working properly. updated the FTDI drivers prior t all of this. Still no joy.. any ideas?

Hey Ed !
Thanks for the tutorial.
Actually I’d realy like to thank you but each time I wanna install the GoldsprintFX.air package I get a #ERROR 1 message from the installer…
As far as I know every thing else is working. I mean I succeed to do races in the basic environment of Opensprint.
Waiting for your help and thanks anyway !!

Thanks for the last comments those really helped me get Goldsprintsfx working.

Now i have a new problem, I just configured the Arduino so the sensors work and light up when swiping a magnet by it but once I click start race it goes 3, 2, 1, go but the go stayes up on the screen and dosent go away.

If anyone has any suggestions please share them! I really want to get this up and working correctly!
